Gameday-at-a-Glance

  • 5:00 pm- Rehearsal starts at BHS the night of a home football game on the “Trash-Lot”. Students need to show up in their full uniform. DO NOT BRING instrument cases, shako boxes (marching band hat case), and raincoats - Unless told to do so by the Marching Band Director.

  • 6:15 pm- The band will march along Catalpa to Hurley Field. Parents and family are welcome to gather in front of Anderson Middle School to take pictures and cheer the band on as they arrive at Hurley Field.

  • 6:45 pm -  Pre-Game Events

  • Half Time Show

  • Students have 3rd-quarter off, but must remain in the stadium. They are required to be back in the stands at the start of the 4th quarter and stay through the end of the game.

Gameday Volunteer Info

Water Brigade

  • 5:00 pm | 70 + Water Bottles at the “Trash-Lot” (Practice Field) w/ a large trash bag to to collect empty water bottles.

  • 6:30 pm | 70 + Small Water Bottles under the bleechers so each student can have a drink of water before pre-game.

  • 7:30 pm-ish | 70 + Small Water Bottles near the gate where the marching band enters the track for half-time so each student can have a drink of water before half-time performance.

Equipment Movers

  • 6:00 pm | Green Cart - One volunteer is needed to move the green cart from the “Trash-Lot”/Practice Field to the stadium.

Yardline Markers

  • 5 min. Left on the Clock during 2nd Quater | Yardline Markers - One or two volunteers to set up the marching band yardline markers between the 30 yardlines on the front sideline, i.e., 30, 40, 50, 40, 30. Set the red/orange cones on the 25, 35, 45, 45, 35, 25. Yardline markers cannot be set up until the end of the 2nd-Quater.

Drum Major Podiums

  • 6:45 pm | Medium-size podium on the 50 yardline and on the edge of the track closest to the field. One small podium on the 40 yardline on the edge of the track closest to the field on side 1 (left side of the 50 if you are looking at the field from the home team side.

  • 5 min. Left on the Clock during 2nd Quater

    • Large Podium on the 50 yardline and on the edge of the track closest to the field.

    • Medium Podium on the 50 yardline on the field on the back hash mark (2nd smallest horizontal line on the field closest to the opposing teams side).

    • Both small podiums/step ladders on the 40 yardlines on the edge of the track closest to the field.

    ***All steps should face the spectator stands.

Plumes

  • 6:00 pm | Plumes are the feathers that the students insert into their marching band shako (marching band hat). Two volunteers are needed at the “Trash-Lot”/Practice Field to assist with the distribution of plumes when the students end their rehearsal before the game. The plume bags will be at the field when you arrive.
