CongratulationsCongratulations to the Berkley High School Marching Band Students for their hard work and their dedication to one another. On Monday, October 9, the Marching Band participated in the MSBOA District IV Marching Band Festival at Bloomfield Hills High School. This festival was an adjudicated event where one judge graded the band for their marching performance, one for their music performance, and one for their general effect/showmanship performance. The students earned straight A's in all categories, earning a Division I rating by all three judges and an overall Division I rating, the highest of all accolades. I am very proud of the students for their continued growth and achievement in the education process, and I hope they are proud of their performance. There are still two more performance opportunities to see the band perform, and we hope our audience will continue to see and hear improvements. Thank you to everyone who has helped out this marching band season. Your support in fundraising, organizing, and helping out at TAG Days, moving equipment, chaperoning, or simply showing up to your child's performance makes a huge difference in the lives of our students, and I couldn't do what I do as a teacher with your help. THANK YOU. I also want to thank our instructional staff, Gary McCombs and Kristin McCombs - the band has improved so much with their support. I also want to thank your administrative team at Berkley High School, led by Mr. Andy Meloche.
