July 4th Parade Rehearsal

The Huntington Woods 4th of July Parade is the biggest audience the marching band will perform for all year; everyone not on an out-of-town vacation need to attend the parade rehearsal on July 1, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the BHS Band Room and the parade on 4th of July. (Look for more details soon).

Pre-Camp

Dates: July 29 - Aug. 2

Location: Hurley Field and Berkley H.S.

Schedule

7:45 am - Leadership Meeting

8:00 am - Marching Rehearsal @ Hurley Field

11:00 am - Lunch Break (open campus)

12:30 am - Music Rehearsal @ BHS in Band Room

3:00 pm - Dismissed

Band-Camp

Dates: Aug. 5-9

Location: Hurley Field and Anderson Middle School

Post-Camp

These rehearsals are designed to maintain the progress the students made over pre-camp and band camp, to add effects to the half-time show, and to prepare for the first football game performance.

Still Recruiting

There is still time to join the Berkley High School Marching Band. If you know someone who stopped playing a musical instrument, encourage them to come to a spring rehearsal. If you know someone who has never played a musical instrument but is motivated to try, bring them to a spring rehearsal. If you have a friend in the band who has never done marching band, bring them to a spring rehearsal.

If you know of someone who can play piano, the marching band is going to include Electric Bass, and Piano for the marching band for the 2024 season and beyond. If you know someone interested who is not in the marching band, have them contact Mr. Thomann (jonathan.thomann@berkleyschools.org).

Bring to every rehearsal:

• Athletic Shoes - NO Sandals etc.

• Athletic Clothes

• Water Bottle - (1 Gallon) Recommended

• 3 Ring Binder

  • Sheet Protectors for music and drill

• 50 Page Spiral 3" x 5", Index Cards
  Index Card

Join The TEAMS

It takes a community to build success, and we need help. None of the volunteer jobs listed require a lot of your time. Some jobs are as simple as setting up a Drum Major podium at football games, taking pictures, to chaperoning events. Any help you can offer directly benefits your child's experience in the Berkley High School Band program.

The details for each event will be communicated closer to the date of the event. The times listed are mostly for student report times and not the actual start times of the events. For example, for football games, students will rehearse at 5 pm when the game starts at 7 pm.

When new events are added they will be communicated as soon as possible.
